HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is an image format developed by Apple that uses the HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) compression standard. It's the default image format on iOS devices and offers better compression than JPEG while maintaining high image quality. HEIC supports both lossy and lossless compression, HDR, and alpha channel transparency.

PCX (PiCture eXchange) is one of the earliest raster image formats, originally developed for the PC Paintbrush graphics editor. It uses run-length encoding compression and supports up to 24-bit color. While largely replaced by newer formats, PCX files are still encountered in legacy applications, retro computing, and older graphic design archives.
