LIT (Microsoft Literature) is an ebook format developed by Microsoft for the Microsoft Reader application. Based on Microsoft's Compressed HTML Help format, LIT files support DRM protection, bookmarks, annotations, and text reflow. Though Microsoft Reader was discontinued in 2012, many legacy ebook collections still contain LIT files that need conversion to modern formats.
